Jason Swan Clark
BA Theology (hons), PGCE, Doctor of Ministry, PhD Theology
Jason spent his twenties working in finance in the City of London. He and his wife planted a church in their late twenties that they led for nearly twenty-six years before moving to Waverley Abbey. Jason completed a Doctor of Ministry degree and then undertook a PhD in theology. His academic expertise is in theological, social science and social theory accounts of Christian identity and formation within the forces of consumerism and secularism. Jason helped oversee the international integrated theological training for his church movement (Association of Vineyard Churches). He designed and still leads a Doctor of Leadership for Portland Seminary.

Dr Heather Churchill

Heather is Head of Counselling Faculty and has many years of experience as a Trainer, Counsellor/Psychotherapist and a Supervisor. She has co-authored two books: Insight into Helping Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse and Insight into Shame and has published a number of articles in the Accord journal of the Association of Christian Counsellors. In her private clinical practice, Heather specialises in counselling adults who have experienced abuse in childhood. Her Doctorate is entitled: From Pastoral Care to Professional Counselling: The Development of Higher Education Counselling Training Underpinned by a Christian Worldview and in Dialogue with Christian Faith/Religion/Spirituality.

Dr Janet Penny

Sara Lister
RN, BSc(Hons) Nursing ; MSc Nursing Studies , Post Graduate Diploma in Adult Education, MA Integrative Psychotherapy from Christian Perspective. Registered member of the BACP and Registered Nurse
Sara is the Programme Leader for MA Counselling. Sara is also part of the team at The Royal Marsden Hospital, providing psychological support for the patients and is also managerially responsible for the psychological support team, the chaplains and staff counselling service.
Her academic interests include the impact of the clinical work on those in the caring profession and strategies for self-care; the psychological support of those with life limiting illness; and spirituality.

Liz Mole
MA Relational Counselling and Psychotherapy, BA (Hons) Counselling
Liz is the Bradford Campus lead tutor for the Diploma of Higher Education in Counselling and the Introduction to Christian Care and Counselling course that runs twice a year at the Bradford campus. She has been counselling since 2010 and has her own practice in Bradford working within a church context and with private clients. Liz is a registered counsellor with the ACC. She counsels individuals, often long-term, to facilitate working with more complex issues. Liz has offered supervision since completing the MA TCP in 2017.

Chris Blakeley
MA (Cantab) English, MBA (London), MSc Organisational Psychology, MCIPD.
A tutor on the Spiritual Direction Module, Chris is a Benedictine Oblate and provides Spiritual Direction and Retreats – largely supporting people in Leadership and Church Ministry in deepening their contemplative practice.
He also runs a Leadership Development Consultancy, Waverley Learning, supporting Leaders in Church, Secular and Not-For-Profit organisations.
Chris founded the Crossroads Retreats Charity which provides support to people in times of major transition or loss. He has just co-authored a book on ‘Leading with Love’ which will be published in 2021.
