Photography at our events

We love capturing the energy and emotion of our events through photography. These moments help us share the story of what makes our community special. At the same time, we’re committed to respecting your privacy and following data protection laws.

What you can expect

General crowd photos

We may take photos where no one is clearly identifiable (for example wide shots of a crowd) for use in our marketing materials.

Photos with recognisable people

When individuals are likely to be recognisable, including in some crowd scenes, we rely on a legal basis called legitimate interest to take and use those images.

Notices at events

We’ll always make it clear when photography is taking place. Notices will be displayed at the event and included on all registration forms.

On-the-day awareness

Our photographers will display a visible notice and do their best to let nearby individuals know before taking photos.

Children in photos

Where children are present, our photographers will seek verbal permission from a parent or guardian.

Your choice matters

If you would prefer not to be photographed, simply speak to a member of the team or the photographer on the day, we’re always happy to respect your wishes.

Photo storage

We store event photos securely and retain them for up to four years, in line with our data protection policies. For more information, please see our full Privacy Policy.
