You are invited to enter into rest, prayer, gentle movement, beauty, learning, laughter and silence. You are invited to go walking or be still, to sit and read or take a nap. To soak in nature and press your feet into the earth, To stretch and breathe to release and let go. To step away from all your roles and responsibilities and just be.

The theme is embracing our everyday life as Spiritual Practice. We will explore welcoming and recognising the presence of God, in the middle of our life, just as it is. Developing tools that give us eyes to see and ears to hear the Divinity that both indwells us and is all around us.

So why not join Spiritual director, poet and artist Vicky Allen and Wellness coach and movement teacher Emma Timms for this nourishing and equipping weekend? We can’t wait to hold the space for you at the gorgeous Waverley Abbey.

Emma Timms lives on the east coast of Scotland with her husband Jon and 4 children. She is a wellness coach, retreat guide and movement teacher who runs an online community of contemplative practice and movement called The Prayer Orchard. She and her husband also lead a 24/7 Prayer community called Discovery Church and are active members in a global monastic order called The order of the mustard seed. She is a curious soul who comes alive out in wild spaces and loves to swim in the ocean and hike out in nature.

Vicky Allen lives in beautiful East Lothian, along with her husband and children, and are in community with Emma and her family at Discovery Church. Vicky has worked for many years in community learning and development, as well as a communications consultant for a small Scottish charity. Alongside this she is a writer and artist, and a spiritual director and retreat guide. Like Emma, Vicky is also a member of the Order of the Mustard Seed. Vicky loves long slow dog walks, fireside reading, and plays the ukulele with wild abandon and a total lack of skill.

Waverley Abbey House is a grade II listed property. The first floor (where most courses are held) and the second and third floors (where bedrooms are located) are reached by stairs. In the event of a fire, you need to be able to walk downstairs at an average walking pace, without assistance.
