A week of 24-7 Prayer at Waverley Abbey: Writing God’s Voice (Workshop)

May 11 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

What does it mean to write God’s Voice?

However new or experienced you are in your faith, it is very possible you have heard about prayer or dream journaling as a process of expressing your thoughts and feelings to God. Journaling the voice of God takes that process one step further and allows you to experience a two-way conversation with God and write down his response to you.

This workshop is intended as a practical, enjoyable tool to deepen your relationship with God by reflecting on His voice within you. We will explore the steps taken when connecting with God, as well as the barriers we can encounter and how to respond to them. No prior journaling experience is required or expected, all you need is yourself, your journal and a willingness to listen to what God has to say.

We are all made to hear God’s voice and thrive in relationship with Him. In Matthew 4, Jesus declares, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ Not only does God speak to us, but he wants to speak to us, and there is tremendous power in writing down and honouring what He has to say.

What you will need:

  • Your journal – avoid loose paper if possible, but bring what you have on hand.
  • Your Bible.
  • Pens or Pencils

We will have some spare supplies but please do your best to bring what you can.
